From the ABC’s of Hypnosis Series:
C is for Christian. Or Catholic. Or church.
From time to time I meet people who are worried that hypnosis is not consistent with their religious beliefs. It is good to be sure that what you do to and for your body is consistent with your beliefs. The good news is, hypnosis IS consistent with Christian doctrine. God designed your body to enter the hypnotic state naturally. Every time we “zone out” in class or in front of the TV, we are in a hypnotic state. Hypnosis is simply and fascinatingly, harnessing that state of relaxation and focus in order to facilitate the alignment of the conscious and subconscious mind for healing. What could be more in tune with God than using what He has given us to help ourselves naturally?
Even the Catholic Church, among the most conservative of world religions, approves the use of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes. There is nothing sinister, uncontrolled or occult about it.
While Hypnosis in and of itself is not a religion tool, people with a spiritual background especially enjoy incorporating their spiritual beliefs into their hypnosis session for a heightened experience. So, feel free to explore this fascinating tool God has made available to you for the alignment of body mind and spirit. And feel free to invite Jesus to come along.
